Managing a $500 Million Social and Economic Impact Fund

The federal government committed to provide $500 million to mitigate the social and economic effects of the Mackenzie Gas Project (MGP) on the communities of the Northwest Territories. The federal government asked our team to manage three main tasks:

  1. to facilitate the design of the fund among all partners;
  2. to provide expert leadership with communities as Aboriginal communities develop Regional Investment Plans that set priorities for community services and programs to address the impacts of the MGP;
  3. to advise on the development of a new federal Crown Corporation and Board governance to oversee the management of the fund.
